Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips is expected to return from his long-term injury in early March, according to reliable journalist Phil Hay.
The Lowdown: Leeds source drops ‘major offers’ claim
The 26-year-old has arguably been the star man of the Marcelo Bielsa era, dominating the midfield with 131 appearances under the Argentine, while he has also become a key man for England, too.
Unfortunately, Phillips hasn’t featured for Leeds since the beginning of December because of a hamstring problem, with the Whites struggling to find consistency without him.
There has been plenty of news about the midfielder during his time away from the pitch however, with a Football Insider source claiming ‘major offers’ could arrive in the summer.
Indeed, their Leeds source believes bids will arrive which trump the one from West Ham in January, with Hay since informing fans of the latest on the player’s journey back to fitness.

The Latest: Return expected next month
Taking to Twitter on Friday morning, Hay confirmed in an 11-word verdict that Phillips is expected to return early next month, meaning he could be back on the pitch in a matter of weeks:
“Phillips still on course to make his comeback in early March.”
Leeds play four more games this month before a trip to Leicester City on March 5th.

The Verdict: Massive boost for Whites
Phillips has been a colossal performer for Leeds for so long now, making 226 appearances overall and averaging 2.3 tackles per game in the Premier League this season.
His return could have the potential to single-handedly turn the Whites’ season around, with his energy and quality in the middle of the park such a huge miss, despite the best efforts of the likes of Adam Forshaw and Mateusz Klich.
Phillips may admittedly take a little time to get back to his best but his influence back in the team should be enough to steer Bielsa’s men away from the threat of relegation. Hopefully, a new contract is agreed in the coming weeks, too.
