Half-centuries to Steven Smith and Usman Khawaja helped the Blues to 278 in their second innings, but they suffered regular setbacks from Ryan Duffield.Duffield finished with 6 for 77 on a hot day at the WACA, as the Warriors attempted to fight back after giving up first-innings points. Smith fell to Duffield for 70 shortly before lunch when he hit to gully while Khawaja pushed the spinner Michael Beer to short midwicket on 55.Peter Nevill, who was unbeaten on 48, and Stuart Clark (32) ensured a healthy total when they put on 46 for the ninth wicket.
