Welsh rivals Wrexham and Newport met just four weeks ago when the side owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney triumphed 2-0 at the SToK Racecourse. On Saturday they'll meet in the reverse fixture, but Wrexham boss Parkinson has stressed the importance of playing the game rather than the occasion.

Ahead of the match Parkinson said (via ): "It is a quick turnaround but we are really looking forward to another Welsh derby. It is one of the few grounds I have never been to before. There's a lot of pride at stake, we know that from the first game. There's that extra competitive edge because of the rivalry between the two clubs but it is just important we have a real focus about the game-plan we need to take with us down to Newport to keep our run going."

THE BIGGER PICTURE

After returning to the Football League last year, Wrexham are now gunning for promotion to the third tier. The Red Dragons are currently second in the League Two table, two points behind leaders Stockport County but with a game in-hand.
